So what other better way to watch the season premiere of  The Biggest Loser than watching it while eating a large 7 meats pizza from Domino's. Well that's what me and David did tonight at his place. If we keep on going on this rate, we'll be next year's contestants for sure! Some contestants lost 15 kg in just a week. That's frickin' amazing. It's so hard for me to just lose 5 kg let alone 15 kg in a week. If only I don't have a life and a job :p

Day 159 - Precious

Joel and his friend picked me up from my place today to go to Newtown to see Precious. We had lunch beforehand too at the chinese restaurant across the street from the Dendy. The movie is about this young girl who had so many obstacles in her young life. Its a really sad and powerful movie that makes you grateful for what you have, because sometimes we take everything for granted and for some people, even to live a healthy life is a luxury. It starred Mo'nique, Lenny kravitz and Mariah Carey amongst other. And in Typical Mariah style, the screening was delayed for 30 minutes! I gave this movie 5 out of 5.  It's not for the fainthearted but I think everyone should see it.

Day 158 - Invictus

Caught the train straight to Bondi to catch up with Phil after work to see Invictus. Man, that was a great movie!! Its a Clint Eastwood movie starring Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela. Its about how he thinks winning the rugby world cup is gonna help lift the spirit fo the people in his country, unit them and put the country on the world map. I know nothing about rugby and Nelson Mandela story, but this movie is truly inspirational. I give it 4 and a half out of 5.

Day 157 - Obsessed

Dinner and Dvd nite with my neighbor David again. This time we opted for chinese takeaway near our place. Beef with cashew nuts and sweet and sour chicken.. yum! Our chosen movie this time is Obsessed. It's a movie about this crazy ass chick whose obsessed with her married boss. It starred Beyonce and Ali larter. Its supposed to be a thriller drama but we found the movie hilarious because of the cheesy lines and over the top acting. Its deff worth watching just for the last 10 mins alone. I gave it 2 stars for thriller and 4 for comedy :P

Day 156 - Work station

Here's my desk.. as you can see, its still work in progress. We don't get window sadly, so I can't even tell what the weather outside looks like. It doesn't matter anyway, coz its always freezing in my area. I need to decorate it more and Andreefied it!

Tuesday, January 26, 2010

It's Australia Day today, so day off for me..yay!! I brought home some back issue of the mags to read and get the feel of it. We are doing the pregnancy one Atm. I think I'm gonna be an expert in anything pregnancy related by the end of it :P

Monday, January 25, 2010

Today is my first day at Park St and Cosmopolitan brand extention mags. I feel so grown up hahaha. When Glen used to live across the street from this building and I was still at uni many many yrs ago, I used to tell him that one day I'm gonna work in this building. Well here I am finally!

Even though I've met everyone before last year, I still feel so nervous. It is a brand new work enviroment for me, luckily everyone was nice. It is very overwhelming though. Learning the new stuff, pages, files, design layout and picture searching. Gosh, I didn't even realise how hard it is to find a set pictures of newborn and parents. It's insane!

My desk is way smaller than when I was at DA or TG. Don't be fool by the look of the front lobby. The inside doesn't look as modern as the outside hahaha. It's very quiet too, no more music blasting from the radio I'm afraid. I think I did quite alright for a first day. It's just really full on. Hopefully I will adjust to the whole thing soon :)

Day 153 - Chinese takeaway

I didn't do much at all today. Don't feel like going anywhere because of all these pimples on my face....argh!! It's the result of a very weird week and anticipation for tomorow. I just get my lunch/dinner from the chinese takeaway 1 block away from my place. The food was alright, nothing special at all.

Day 152 - Trainwork

I'm visiting Darren tonight for dinner but its nightmare to go to his place because of the trainwork. I have to catch train to Sydenham first then bus it to Marrickville. Luckily the dinner was worth it Lol. He made this yummy chicken salad and you guys know how I'm not really into veggies at all but his salad is just so good. Lots of chicken's pieces and bacon..mmm:)

We also watch this Harrison Ford's movie, Crossing Over. It was a flop in the US and went straight to dvd here. The movie is about people from different backgrounds trying to get their American citizenship. I found the movie really boring and long, so 2 out of 5 frm me.

Friday, January 22, 2010

Finally it's my last day at Disney kids. After all those weeks waiting, the day has arrived. It also marked my last day doing kids magazine after around 5 years. 3 years at Total Girl and 2 years at Disney Adventures. I think it's safe to say that I know everything I need to know about Hannah Montanah, Hilary Duff, Ben 10 and all the HSM kids.

Karen made me this DA cover card with my faces on it and signed by everyone in the office. We also went for yumcha at Zilver in chinatown and in the afternoon, we had these 2 ice cream cakes, one for me and one for Ann.

It's quite sad leaving this crazy, cool group of people and also quite nerve wracking to start something new again. I'm gonna miss them all and I'm also gonna miss Goulburn st building. It's actually quite nice there, close to World Square and everything. I know I'm gonna keep in touch with them all anyway and I will come over as much as I can. It's only a couple blocks away.
So goodbye Kids, thanks for having me. It's been a pleasure:)

Thursday, January 21, 2010

We all went to Mr. B across the street today for Ann's lunch farewell. Her last day is tomorow, same as me, but I ain't sharing my farewell lunch with her hahaha. Martine made us these yummy brownies with ice cream topping. It was really delicious! I'm so gonna miss her cakes.

After work, I went to Broadway to see Nine with Adam. The movie is based on a Broadway musical starring Fergie and Kate Hudson amongst others. It was an OK movie. It's about this guy whose trying to make a movie but he doesn't have a script at all. The songs aren't exactly catchy and the whole movie feels like a glossy compilation of music clips. I gave it 3 and half out of 5 stars:)

Day 149 - Joy Cafe

No, I didn't eat here tonight. Me and Shane walked past it on our way home from dinner at Delima. I used to come here all the time for lunch with Viv, but after she left, I haven't eaten here again. Looks like they've been doing some renovating. It look so much better than before and since Viv is coming back to Syd at the beginning of March, I'm sure i'll be eating here again soon.

Day 148 - Tuesdayitis

I was craving chocolates all day!! that's what happens if you don't get enuff sleep, All you can think of is choccies and snacks. Since I'm a huge fan of white chocolate, this is what I get. Do you know that Timtam is making a white one now? Yea, I don't either, but apparently they do now. So yummy!!:)

Day 147 - Jennifer's Body

Dvd night tonight with my neighbor David. We ordered thai home delivery and I brought some dvds to watch. We ended up choosing Jennifer's Body starring Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried (heart them both btw!). The movie is about this girl who's possessed by the devil and in order to keep her power strong, she must keep on eating/killing boys. It's basically a teenage boys' dream movie. Girl on girl action, gory scenes, lots of blood. We both quite enjoyed the movie too. There's some great one-liners in it. I gave it 3 and a half out of five.

Day 146 - The Cross

I went to Kings Cross today to catch up for dinner with Sam. He moved back to Syd at the end of Dec last year from Nz. Him and Dan live in this old apartment building in Cross behind the main street. Their elevator is like one of those elevator in scary movie where you can see every floor that you past. I half expected to see a scary long hair lady waiting on the second floor. Super vintage!!

We had thai at one of the restaurants nearby, nothing special about the food. This area isn't famous for the food anyway:P

Saturday, January 16, 2010

Today is supposed to be one of those quiet relaxing days for me, but alas, its not happening. Woke up around midday and then got a bit of a trim for my hair, lunch, then go to the city to pick up some stuff from work. I already started to clean up/packed my desk yesterday but since I got quite a few things to bring home I asked Adam to help me with it.

After that, we drove to the temple in Glebe for a bit of a pray, but before that I took all my old clothes that I packed cpl days ago to this clothing collection bin not far from my place. It doesn't say where the clothes will go though, hopefully it will go to some good charity and people who really need it.

When we finished at the temple and everything, Adam dropped me off in Newtown so I can meet up with Tom. I haven't seen him for ages actually, since he's been really busy with his bf:P
Anyway, we went to see Fantastic Mr. Fox at Dendy's and I loved it!! It's a stop motion animated movie, with the voice of George Clooney and Meryl Streep. That's 2 George Clooney movies in a row for me!
It's about this fox who's back to his old trickery again by robbing and stealing stuff from the humans. I don't think kids will find it appealing since it's quite diff to the kind of movie they're used to seeing, but I enjoyed it very much. All the characters are funny and even though it takes a while for me to adjust to the stop motion thing, by the end you just don't notice it anymore. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.
We then have a small dinner at Cinque, the cafe outside Dendy then I go back home. Back to rest hopefully!

Oh.. one other thing:

YAYY!!!

Day 144 - Up in the air

Finally Friday!! yayy!! I catch up with Andrew after work for dinner at Fujiya just around the corner from work. We hang out for a while, then go back to work again to burn more files.

After that, since its still early, I asked Joel to meet me in the city to see a movie. He chose Up in the air since I chose the movie last time. I actually got the advanced screening of this movie back in Nov I think, but I didn't go because the invitation looked shit:P. It was poorly designed in Powerpoint and didn't tell me anything about the movie.
Well I guess never judge a movie by its invitation since this movie is actually really really good. It starred George Clooney and it's about this guy whose job it is to travel around America firing people and by flying around so much he's isolated with the real world. There's something about this movie that just makes you think about it long after the movie finished. I truly recommend this movie. 4 and a half out of 5!!

Day 143 - The Chipettes

I went to Bondi Westfield to day to catch up with Gavin and see Alvin and the Chipmunks 2. We both been wanting to see this movie for ages! and now we finally made it hahaha. I just realised that Bondi Westfield is like a mini version of Grand Indonesia. The shops, the atmosphere, the people, It's quite similar.

Anyway, back to the movie, the only reason I wanna see it is not because of Alvin, but because of The Chipettes. Alvin and the gang were alright, but The Chipettes are so much cuter and they don't dissapoint me in this movie. It's a fun kids movie so I don't expect much at all. Lots of cute songs in it. and I think it's slightly better than the first one. I give it 3 out of 5 stars:)

After the movie, since we were both so hungry, we decided to go to Maccas, but the one in Bondi was already closed, so we took the train to the Cross and got our fix there since Gav lives near the area. Angus burger for me. Yumm!!
x

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Nothing much happening today, Adam picked me up tonight to catch up for a bit and we went to Max Brenner's Newtown. It opened when I was back in Jkt, so its only new and the place was so busy busy busy. It is a small one compared to their other shop but still, it's really popular. It took quite a while to get our order. Deff a huge competition to Gloria jeans next door.

Day 141 - Manly escapade

I catch up with Clif today for lunch at Shark Hotel's all-you-can-eat $9.95 buffet. Clif is an old friend of mine but we haven't seen each other for at least a year, so it's nice to finally get in touch with him again. The food isn't that great sadly. The korean buffet across the street is much better.

After work, I met Matt at World Square, we walk to Darling Harbour to catch a ferry ride to Manly. I haven't been to Manly in ages, I can't even remember the last time I was there. Anyway, its a fresh change from city. We took cpl of pics on the beach when I lost my camera bag for the second time! Matt said he got a spare one at his office so hes gonna gimme his.. yay!!

We then ended up having dinner at Bavarian Beer Cafe. It's not a good place to have a quiet dinner thou, coz the place is really noisy. They ring the cow bell everytime someone order a shot. It does your head in after a while. Then we go to Max Brenners for dessert. White chocolate with crunchy balls for me:)

We catch the ferry back to city again and walk to Matt's office near Hyde park. My feet are ready to quit me by then but it's been a really fun day:)

Day 140 - Premature Easter

So we got easter eggs sent today at work. It's not even mid Jan yet!! it's crazy. Easter always reminds me of my birthday and I don't even wanna think that far ahead. We are not complaining about the chocolates though. It's nice to have lots of free chocolates at the beginning of a working week.

Song of the day: "Incredible" - Madonna
Since Vina always played this song in her car everytime I caught a ride with her, this song will always remind me of my Jakarta 2009 holiday.

Day 139 - Summer cleaning

It's a quiet sunday for me today because I didn't feel like going anywhere at all. The weather is still boiling hot, I'm sweating like crazy and I also still feel really tired after coming back from Jakarta.

I'm trying to summer-clean my room because I got way too much stuff there. Clothes, books, dvd, cds, all sorts of junk. I've found few clothes that I haven't even worn and still got a price tag on them. I wish I got a bigger closet, coz no matter how much stuff I've thrown out, I still have way too many clothes.

Anyway, here's the end results. 2 bags full of clothes and shoes ready to be drop off at Vinnies. I haven't even sorted out the cds and dvds yet. That can wait till next summer hahaha.

Day 138 - Bungalow 8

I went to Bungalow 8 today for Yas' B'day drinks. Bungalow 8 is a bar/club thing located in King St wharf. The party was good but the weather was really crap. It was super hot, sticky and humid so we were all sweating like crazy. I was doing the fan dance thing with the drink menu. Tash gave me a lift home at around midnight. That's me and the b'day girl on the first pic.

Day 137 - Half day work

Well I was trying to get up early, but I couldn't sleep at all last nite, I must still be jet lagged. I ended up waking up at 10.30am, By the time I got to work its already midday, so it's half day work for me, yayy! I'm not supposed to be back til monday anyway, but I thought I have lotsa stuff to do because we're sending files next week, but apparently I've done them all except the cover. Sometimes I suprise myself with how good I am hahaha

Speaking of cover, here's the cover of the new Disney Adventures that's out right now. It's the Toy Story issue, filled with everything you need to know about the movie episode one and two and also sneak peek from the third one. It comes with free Toy Story stationery. So hurry grab your own copy now:)

After work, I went to Broadway to see
It's Complicated with Adam. It's a romantic comedy starring Meryl Streep and Alec Baldwin. It's about this divorce couple whose reliving old feeling and start seeing each other again. It's quite funny movie, and Meryl was good as usual. I was nodding off for a bit thou, not coz of the movie, but coz I was still tired, must be from half of the sleeping pill that I took last nite. Man, that thing was strong! I gave the movie 3 and a half out of 5.

This is the pic of the scientology building that I took from Broadway car park opposite it. I think this is their main office.

Day 136 - London calling

So I didn't do much at all today besides sleep and sleep. Can't believe my body was so tired. Must be the combination of the flight and jet lag. I still managed to go to the post office to get a package from James thou. He sent me this London stationary from the UK. I thought it was really cute and sweet of him. I luv it:) Thanks James! It also reminded me that I have to send my mags to him soon hahaha. Next week, I promise!:)

Adam picked me up from Redfern so we can get some dinner in Newtown. Newtown Thai as usual. I missed the food there. Went to ATM after, but then I realised I couldn't remember my PIN number. Well, I haven't used it in like 2 weeks and its not the number that I chose anyway, its the one that the bank gave me. I haven't got the chance to change it to my preferable PIN, so it's not entirely my fault:P

Day 135 - Hello Sydney:)

Finally back in Sydney! Man, that was a long flight, I know its only 7 hours but I couldn't sleep at all on the plane. Flying economy sucks:P I'm so tired and I just wanna crash on my bed. Luckily it doesn't take me long to get out from the airport. No Border Security cameo from me:P

Phil picked me up from the airport and we went to grab a bit of food at Maccas. Breakfast menu hahaha. He then dropped me off at my place, I unpacked, shower and jumped to my bed straight away. Bliss!!

Day 134 - Goodbye Jakarta!

So I'm flying back to Sydney tonight with Garuda. Man, that means my holiday is over. It went by so fast, its ridiculous. Before my parents took me to the airport, we had lunch at my friend's seafood restaurant in Green Ville, just 10 mins drive from my house. The restaurant called Saung Grenvil and I have no idea that my friend Jujung own this restaurant up until last week when Hani told me on facebook.
Jujung is a really old friend of mine. We used to sit beside each other when we were in year 7 and then after I moved to another school, we lost contact. Thanks to facebook, I finally can get in touch with him again and we talked for a bit when I was eating at the restaurant. He's married now with 3 sons and spends most of his time in the restaurant. The restaurant is quite popular actually, its specialty is mudcrab. It was nice to finally see him again after all these years and hopefully I can catch up with others when I come back next yr.

After that, went back home and packed. I'm 5 kg under limit, yay!! then we drove to the airport. Luckily the flight was on time this time. It was a bit sad to say goodbye again to my family, It's only a short holiday and I have to go back to work but I'm sure I will go back soon for holiday again:)

Day 133 - Farewell dinner

I caught up with the girls one last time before I fly back to Sydney tomorow. We went to GI (again!) to have dinner at Y&Y restaurant. The food was actually quite alright. I had this fried rice with duck and apple pie dessert. I love hanging out with them because they're all so funny and we always have a great time when we are all together, gossiping, eating and making fun of each other. I'm gonna miss them all and I can't wait to see them again when I come back next time.
x

Sunday, January 3, 2010

No, we didn't eat the ducklings!! Me and my fam went to see my uncle's land which located a little bit outside jakarta and these ducks happened to be there. They're really cute. I want one!!

Day 131 - Heaven

Tonight I went clubbing with Sandy and his friends to Heaven nightclub. This place was so popular when I was here 2 yrs ago. I even spent my NYE last time here. But tonight the place was dead. Well not as busy as it used to. I think it's because they have another competitor now. We didn't stay for too long here.

After that, one of Sandy's friend gave me a lift back home because he lived nearby. But before we go home, we went to grab something to eat. We drove to Kemang area to buy food from the stalls on the street. Oh how I missed eating here. Everytime me and Sandy finished clubbing, we always come here and eat lamb fried rice and satay. It taste so good!:) I think they're open 24 hours, because when we got there it's already 2.30 am.

Day 130 - Hello 2010!

We finally made it to 2010! I haven't make any NY resolutions yet, I think I'm just gonna stay with the basics, like stay fit and healthy, be nicer to people (zip it!) and try to get to work on time (yea, so NOT gonna happen:P)

Anyhoo, We went for lunch at my uncle's house. Its 5 storey house where my uncle and aunt lives with their son, his wife and their kids and gazillion maids. Their house is practically a private Sea World. As you can see from these pictures, they got lots of huge aquariums inside the house, filled with expensive tropical fish. You name it, they got it. They even got the touch and feel area and in case fish isn't your thing, they've got a private cinema on the top floor with a fully stocked bar. I wouldn't even leave the place at all if this was my house:P

We then all went to Grand Indonesia Mall (which is now practically my second house during this holiday) for dinner with a few of my cousins, nephews and nieces. They're all from my dad's side. We went to this chinese restaurant on level 5. There's soo many kids in our family, all the screaming and running around was driving me mental. Luckily I only get to see them once every 2 years hahaha. I haven't seen the twins before though. They're really cute and adorable and you deff can see the diff, not because one is a boy and one is a girl but they also don't look similar.
