My friend, Denin has a stall at the Sydney Uni Pet Fair today, so we went to give her a visit. I've known Denin for ages, since high school to be exact and now shes married, has a 3 yrs old kid (Chris, who is insanely adorable) and has opened a small business. I'm very proud of her. It's called Spoon and fork and specializes in cookies, cupcakes and wedding cakes.
As her friend I got the privilige to taste them all obviously and trust me, they're really really good. She brought a 20kg wedding cake to my office and we all eat it for days and days and everyone compliments at how delicious the cake is. She's really talented at what she does. She's like an Asian Martha Stewart!

It's Phoebe's turn to have her B'day celebration today. I know! all these b'day I'm telling ya, but this one is special because she's turning 1. Yep, a full 12 months! That's why Im trecking myself via train all the way to Merrylands. If you know me well, you would know that I don't like to travel anywhere past Newtown and Merrylands is way out west.
It turned out not that bad. I took a limited stop train and it only took me half an hour to get there. Tash and Alex picked me up from the station.
The party was held at Merrylands RSL club and it's an all-you-can-eat buffet. YUMM!!! Klai invited 100 people. I don't think she knows most of them. They're mostly friends of her parents. For entertaiment, they had this overworked magician with his seemingly drugged out rabbit. Poor magician, he couldn't have a peaceful time to finish his dinner. Everyone kept asking him to make animal balloons and stuff.
As you can see from the pics, the theme is Mickey Mouse. Little Phoebs dressed up as Minnie complete with the ear headbands. The buffet was amazing Btw. We kept on filling our plates with seafoods and desserts. On last counts I think I had between 4-5 plates. Damn you buffet!!
It was a really fun party and totally worth it travelling all the way there hahaha. Thanks for inviting me Klai and happy B'day again cute Phoebe!

We went to Adrian and Raffi's place for his B'day drinks. Even thou they don't live that far from me, I haven't visited them in ages. Actually I lie, I went to their place last week to return the vacuum cleaner, but only for 5 mins!.
Anyway, It was nice to catch up with them again along with Josh and James. I haven't seen James for months! I used to see him at the train station every morning, but since I go to work late most of the time, we never cross path's anymore. They all went clubbing afterwards to Oxford Street but I went back home. Way too tired.
Joyeux Anniversaire Raffi! lots of love:)

It was Nika's B'day today and we celebrated it at the Fringe bar in Paddington. I've never been to this place before and it was really packed. You can barely speak in here and the place is quite hot. I kept on fanning all nite hahaha. We stayed there for a few hours and after that, we bar hopped to a couple of clubs in Oxford st, like Nevermind! and Palms. It was quite a fun nite. I haven't been out in ages and didn't realise that it's getting more and more expensive to go out, cover charge and drinks to name a few. I went back home around 4am. Fun times!!

The new Cosmo Bride and Cosmo Pregnancy are out at newsagents near you. Both filled with tons of useful information and tips about weddings, babies, and motherhood. So grab it if you guys are planning to get married or having babies. I actually really like our Bride cover. It's really gorgeous and romantic and they're real life couple too.

We are flying back to Sydney today. Boo!! :( There are still so many places that we haven't seen.
When we first planned this trip, we thought 6 days is more than enough to see HK and had even planned to go to Macau. Obviously we were wrong. 6 days isn't enough to check out HK at all! I’ve still got a lot on my to-see list and it's really sad that everything was over so fast. We were already starting to get used to the city and their working hours and we love it here. It's a really nice city to visit and I actually have a lot of relatives here who I haven't seen in years. Hopefully we get to come back here soon and for longer this time. We would prob spend more time just enjoying the city and not got at an Amazing Race pace trying to cross out everything on everyone’s lists hahahaha.
Sidenote; everyone here actually thinks that I'm one of them and always start talking to me in Cantonnese! I don't think I look like Honkies at all.

We will arrive in Sydney in the night time. Luckily, I took Tuesday off too, so I can unpacked, rest and prepare myself for work on Wednesday. Can't wait for my next holiday again. Bring on December!!!!

Last full day in HK. First on the schedule is Ocean park. It's a huge theme park in HK. We took a bus to get there and since it's the weekend, there's thousands of people there already. It took us ages just to even do 1 ride. It was fun nevertheless. We took the cable car again and got to see a panda, red panda and seals in their animals exhibits area. The weather is really hot tho, it makes you just want to stay indoors or somewhere with air con like the panda's area hahaha.
After we finished with Ocean's park, we took a ferry to Harbour City mall. It's a large shopping mall in Tsim Sha Tsui area. They sell some really nice stuff and I got myself a cool jacket that was on sale in one of the shops there. We spent a couple hrs there until sunset until the weather cooled down a bit before we headed to Ladies market again. We just wanted to check it out and get ourselves a couple of souvenirs before we fly back tomorrow. It's kinda sad that my holiday has almost come to an end :(

It's Darren and Tum's last day in HK. They have to fly back to Bangkok in the arvo, so today we all caught a bus to Stanley market in the morning for lunch and to check out the area. It's located on the south of Hong Kong island so its quite a long drive to get there. Its worth it for the scenery alone tho. It's basically another outdoor market near the beach selling Chinese arts and souvenirs for tourists. The weather is actually really hot so we have to use umbrella to walk around. We had lunch on one of the cafe's beside the beach, which is actually quite pricey for HK standards.
After lunch, Darren and Tum had to go back to city and to the airport, so David and I continued checking out the temples near the area. Once we finished, we caught the bus back to Admiralty area and checked out the Pacific Place mall. It's one of HK's swankiest malls. We like it there because it's got air-con. It sells all the high end brands like LV and Burberry. We hung out there for a while and then we moved on to Causeway bay, which is only 2 train stops away from Admiralty. Causeway Bay is one of HK's major shopping districts with Times square and SOGO. We didn't even get to check out SOGO because it was getting really late and everything was starting to close. Oh well, put that on the list for the next HK trip:)

It's Disneyland of course!!! One of my main reasons to go to HK was to visit Disneyland, so I was definitely planning to spend a full day there.
The weather finally picked up. It stopped raining and returned to hot, humid summer weather again. We caught the train there and then we had to catch the transporting Mickey train to Disneyland. The train was so cool!! Wish they have that trains everywhere.

It was busy as expected and we had to queue for ages to get on a ride. I don't really mind queueing since it at least kept us in the shade. My favourite ride was the Space Mountain and we ended up doing it twice. We stayed there until the closing time fireworks. I luv, luv luv it there. It's smaller than the one in LA but in saying that, we missed on 2 rides already and I think they're expanding it soon since we saw constructions nearby.
I bought myself a Chip n' Dale mug and chocolates since I'm a huge fans of Chip n' Dale. It's actually quite hard to find their merchandises since they're not the most popular Disney character. Toy story gallore there.

Day 2 and a half! First on the schedule was Wong Tai Sin Temple. It is one of the most famous shrines in HK. We caught the train there. The weather was still bad, by the way. Luckily, we armed ourselves with brollies.
After checking out the temple, we caught the train again to see the Big Buddha. It's the world's largest outdoor bronze Buddha statue and in order to get there, we had to take a 25 minute trip on Ngong Ping 360 cable car. It was really windy and foggy while we're on it, which was actually quite scary. We couldn't even see the statue due to the fog. It cleared up a bit once we get to the top. We didn't spend much time there since it was almost closing time so we headed back down and went to this outlet mall near the train station. It's called Citygate outlets and it's the largest outlet mall in HK. We didn't buy anything though, just window shopping mostly.

For dinner, we decided to go to Jumbo Kingdom floating restaurant. We caught a bus to Aberdeen and then a small connecting boat to get there. It was quite empty when we were there, maybe its coz it was a bit late and in the middle of the week. We had Peking Duck and something else that I completely forgot hahaha. It was good and the price was roughly similar to Sydney price, but in my opinion, I think BBQ king's Peking duck in Sydney is much better. Maybe because I had my first ever Peking duck there and it set my tastebuds.
